Follow the steps below when downgrading from a CR that uses DFL to a legacy CR that uses CFL:
Ensure the device is powered on and connected, and that the old CFL customer dongle is connected.
Ensure that you have an old, pre-DFL backup available if you plan on re-ghosting, and access to the CFL-based CR you are returning to.
Launch ODST and open the Authorization Tool.
Obtain service access.
Authorize a firmware downgrade. As a dealer, you may need to contact the Kodak CEC for assistance to authorize the downgrade at this point.
Ensure that the green Firmware Downgrade status is displayed.
If you are re-ghosting the workstation with an image of the desired CR, do it now and then skip to step 12.
Delete folder C:\Kodak\ServiceTools\Server.
Delete folder C:\Kodak\ServiceTools\TestPlot.
Uninstall the following Kodak CR components using Add and Remove Programs (Apps and Features) in Windows:
Print Console 5
DCAPI
ODST
xMCE Core Firmware
PICT (Punch Image Creation Tool)
Install the previous CFL-based CR using its CR installer, but for the "Workstation only" and NOT with the "xMCE and Head connected".
Run the previous CFL-based CR installer a second time, but this time with the "xMCE and Head connected".
Restore the NVS file from a backup if necessary. (For example, after re-ghosting.)
IMPORTANT: Although the latest controlled releases using DFL store the NVS parameters in the folder C:\Kodak\Firmware, in the restored CFL CR the backup NVS parameter file should go to C:\Creo\Firmware.
The old CFL customer license should still be active and available in the backup files.
