How to tell if a system is using CFL or DFL

Here are some tips for helping you, while on-site, to identify whether a CTP system is using CFL or the new DFL technology:

• New DFL-based devices will not be shipped with a customer dongle, so if you do not see one then the device (if operational) is definitely running a DFL controlled release (CR).

• Some existing devices upgraded from CFL to DFL may still have the customer dongle connected. In this case, you can login and check the desktop.

  • If the CFL License Manager is installed (look for the icon on the desktop), then this device is running a CFL CR.  Otherwise, the device is running a DFL CR.

  • Open ODST.  If its version is 2.x.x or greater, then it is a DFL CR (the authorization tool icon will also be visible).  All lower versions are CFL. 

  • If the main firmware version is 2.00.00 or higher, it is a DFL CR.  This applies for all products.
